CargoX is setting up a scholarship fund for students of logistics who are keen on blockchain

June 14, 2018, 7 a.m.

(Celje, 14 June 2018) - CargoX, the provider of smart public blockchain-based solutions for the logistics and supply chain industries, is proud to announce the establishment of a scholarship fund intended for students at colleges around the world. Among the first of these is the Faculty of Logistics at the University of Maribor, which will receive funding for a student of logistics.

CargoX is convinced that blockchain is the technological platform of the future for logistics and supply chains, as well as countless other complementary industries, such as finance. This makes it part of our mission to encourage awareness and the adoption and implementation of blockchain for all processes in these fields, as well as to promote these technologies among students - the future logistics managers.

“We put great value on education, and we like to emphasize that modern digital knowledge is the most important factor when it comes to optimization of transportation, logistics, and supply chains. The industry is ripe for an overhaul, at least when it comes to documentation, payment, and value-transfer processing. We know that students are looking for ways how to approach and implement new technologies in this traditional business. We want to help them achieve their academic, business, and personal goals with that. We feel it is our duty to give some of our knowledge and experience back to the academia, and we are also proud that we can offer financial support to the students who strive the most,” emphasized Stefan Kukman, CEO, and founder of CargoX.

“We are proud to be one of the leading logistics academic institutions in the region, and we are always seeking great partnerships, just as we are looking out for revolutionary technologies of the future. Blockchain ledger technology is one of these. Its transformative power has us ready and eager to begin collaboration with a company that brings this fresh wind to the logistics and supply chain business. We believe that this is just the beginning of a fruitful and ongoing partnership, one that will open up new perspectives for students and the logistics industry as a whole,” said Prof. Ph.D. Bojan Rosi, Dean of the Faculty of Logistics.

The Faculty of Logistics, a member of the University of Maribor, is Slovenia’s leading academic and research institution in the field of logistics. They strive for useful, practical, and innovative study, as well as to provide graduates with the knowledge that offers promising employment prospects. They foster close and long-term partnerships with key business entities, providing logistics services in Slovenia. Their scientific studies and results provide support to the economy in meeting its ongoing challenges.

The Faculty of Logistics is known for its laboratories for logistics systems, informatics, and transport and system logistics, where the interest in blockchain-based solutions has been growing steadily for some time.

The CargoX student fund will be set up with a range of contractual obligations that a student at the Faculty of Logistics must fulfill. We will fund students in the second cycle degree program at each of the faculties (there are more to follow), for the duration of the whole cycle, under the typical conditions of successful fulfillment, and with their studies focused on blockchain technologies.

These students will have direct access to CargoX’s technological knowledge, and CargoX will provide deep insights into the world of logistics, based on rich experience from the CargoX founding team members.
