CargoX joins the WCO Technology Conference & Exhibition in Rio as a Platinum Sponsor, with a full leadership team and major sustainability initiative
(Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 12 November 2024) - CargoX, a global leader in blockchain-based document transfer solutions for the global trade and logistics industry, is proud to participate as a Platinum Sponsor at the World Customs Organization (WCO) Technology Conference & Exhibition, taking place from 12 to 14 November 2024 in Rio de Janeiro. This event brings together global customs, security, and trade technology leaders to discuss transformative technologies and sustainable innovations for international trade and customs processes.
CargoX is honoured to welcome attendees to booth D to engage directly with CargoX company leaders, including CargoX founder Stefan Kukman, Bojan Čekrlić, CEO, Patrick Vlačič, Ph.D., VP Corporate, and Peter Kern, VP Commercial.
CargoX executives will share insights on the transformative role of blockchain in customs, trade finance, and logistics, showcasing the company’s CargoX Platform and its impact on global trade document flows based on blockchain.
“Harness the power of blockchain in customs processing workflows to eliminate document-based fraud, potentially increasing tax revenue collection. With public blockchain, you can increase security, detect threats early, streamline processes, and significantly reduce your operation’s carbon footprint by moving away from paper handling and storage,” emphasises Bojan Čekrlić, CEO of CargoX.
The management team will be available at WCO for meetings and discussions about all things related to blockchain in the public and private sectors.
Keynote and session highlights
On 13 November, CEO Bojan Čekrlić will deliver a keynote address at 9:00 AMT, focusing on how blockchain technology enhances risk mitigation, fraud prevention, and operational efficiency in customs processes.
Later that day, Patrick Vlačič, Ph.D., will join the session, Unveiling the power of blockchain: Transforming customs operations for seamless trade facilitation, at 16:30 AMT. This session will highlight the new technology’s ability to reduce document fraud, streamline document flows, introduce green environmental benefits, and minimise operational costs for customs agencies, exporters, importers, carriers, and other industry stakeholders.
Commitment to sustainability
In a bold move to support environmental restoration, CargoX is announcing its continued partnership with ImpactHero. Together, we are planting an additional 10,000 trees in heavily impacted areas, reinforcing CargoX’s commitment to a more sustainable global trade ecosystem. This initiative aligns with the company’s twofold strategy: reducing the paper footprint in trade documentation and actively restoring the environment. The 10,000 trees planted this year represent the equivalent of 83 million sheets of paper – a staggering reminder of the environmental impact of traditional, paper-based documentation. For perspective, DCSA members, leading ocean carriers, issue 45 million bills of lading annually. As each bill can require multiple sheets of paper, and while customs processing demands even greater volumes - the use of paper in global trade is unacceptably high.
Invitation to join CargoX at WCO Tech Conference & Exhibition
CargoX invites attendees to visit booth D to explore the latest in blockchain solutions for trade and customs and to discuss collaborative opportunities for a paper-free, streamlined, and sustainable trade industry.
