Digital Trade Corridor

A neutral data
exchange layer for
customs authorities.

CargoX enables digital trade corridors through a neutral, blockchain-based platform that ensures data integrity, transparency, and security. This approach removes the need for complex bilateral technical integrations while still supporting customs-to-customs data comparison and early risk assessment.

Enhanced customs and border control

Trusted and accurate data

Faster customs clearance

TRUSTED DATA EXCHANGE

What is a digital trade corridor?

Digital trade corridors serve as customs-to-customs data exchange layers, enabling the secure and seamless transfer of information. The result is a more efficient, accessible and secure trade environment that supports economic growth.

PUBLIC BLOCKCHAIN-POWERED
DIGITAL TRADE CORRIDOR ENABLER.

Why does digital trade corriodor matter?

Trade is vital to economic prosperity, but traditional processes can be inaccurate, inefficient, costly and at risk of fraud and criminal exploitation.

Digital trade corridors can deliver significant benefits right across the trade ecosystem. Our blockchain based solution for digital trade corridors enables:

Faster and more predictable trade

Real-time data exchange shortens clearance times and reduces delays.

Lower costs, less bureaucracy

Eliminates duplicate submissions, and manual reconciliation.

Improved data quality

Source-based digital data improves accuracy and consistency across borders.

Stronger customs control and risk management

Earlier access to shipment data enables better targeting and compliance.

Customs-to-Customs (C2C) visibility

Comparison of export and import data across borders without direct system integration improves transparency.

Preservation of national sovereignty

Each authority retains full control over decisions and receives only the data required for its legal mandate.

How CargoX enables
the foundations of digital trade corridors

Trusted data exchange

The CargoX platform enables each authority to share and receive only the data required for its own requirements. This approach eliminates the need for bilateral technical integrations, while enabling effective customs-to-customs data comparison and earlier risk assessment.

Bridge between customs authorities

CargoX acts as that bridge. Building on our experience as an enabler of the sharing of information, we provide the secure infrastructure needed to facilitate digital trade. We work with customs authorities and technology providers to establish the foundations of digital trade corridors.

Delivering efficient customs

Customs authorities receive improved data earlier in the process. They can accurately assess risk, focus their attention on where it is most needed, accelerate clearance times and streamline procedures while maintaining robust oversight.

Supporting the adoption of enabling technologies

CargoX’s use of blockchain and AI not only ensures that the digital trade corridor is transparent, traceable, secure and intelligent, but its connecting without integrating approach means that customs authorities benefit from these enabling technologies without having to deploy them directly.

USE CASE

Abu Dhabi and Shanghai with a digital trade corridor

CargoX recently partnered  with Abu Dhabi Customs and Shanghai E&P International to develop a digital trade corridor connecting Abu Dhabi and Shanghai.

CargoX will provide the secure infrastructure needed to facilitate digital trade between two of the world’s major trade centres.

This is a truly global digital trade corridor. Rather than both customs authorities having to rely on the data provided by importers and exporters via customs declarations, they can share that information via CargoX, without needing to integrate their own systems.

The digital transformation of customs continues as authorities worldwide balance security requirements with the need to enable efficient trade. While technology is essential, real progress also depends on decision-makers with the vision to drive change. We have been fortunate to work with forward-thinking partners who recognise this, and we’re pleased to showcase our joint work at this year’s WCO Technology Conference & Exhibition.”
