CargoX achieves ISO/IEC 27001:2022 Certification
LJUBLJANA, Slovenia, 16 January 2024 – CargoX Ltd., the provider of the CargoX Platform for Blockchain Data Transfer, and pioneer in strengthening the global digital economy, is proud to announce it has passed ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification audit. This internationally recognised accreditation underlines the company's unwavering commitment to information security, cybersecurity, and privacy protection. CargoX remains steadfast in maintaining the highest organizational security standards in the future, while continuously improving them.
ISO/IEC 27001:2022 is the world's best-known standard for information security management systems (ISMS) and defines the requirements an ISMS must meet. The standard presents guidelines for the establishment, implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of an ISMS. It provides proof that the company has established a system to manage the risks associated with data and information security, and adheres to the best practices. The certificate confirms that the company has put in place policies, procedures, and controls to meet the requirements of the ISMS.
Passing the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification audit represents the high point of a long-term initiative launched in 2021 under the leadership of the then CTO and current CEO, Bojan Čekrlić. Mr Čekrlić commented, “Our organization handles a significant amount of confidential information. We recognised early on the need to expressly demonstrate to our customers and the public that their data and information is secure with us. Compliance with ISO/IEC 27001:2022 not only confirms the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our platform, but also our commitment to continuous security training and improvement.”
ISO/IEC 27001:2022 explained
An ISO/IEC 27001:2022 audit involves a review by a competent and objective auditor to verify:
that the ISMS and its elements meet the requirements of the standard,
the organization meets its information requirements,
that the objectives of the ISMS are practical and effective, and
that the policies, processes and other controls are practical and effective.
This includes development, intellectual property, business development, customer and other business partner information, business plans, finance, human resources, partnerships, contracts, subcontractors, and other matters relevant to the outsourcing activity. Information is, in simple terms, all the data that adds value. Information can be in a variety of formats, namely audio, visual, paper, and electronic. And all of it is covered by ISO/IEC 27001:2022.
All information about the provision of those services, their users, and clients must be adequately protected against theft, loss, destruction, unauthorized alteration and unauthorized access. In other words: the ISMS must guarantee confidentiality, integrity and availability. Any unauthorized modification or loss of business information can have a significant impact on a company’s operations, success and growth, regulatory compliance and integrity, and confidence in the business in delivering services as a whole. ISO/IEC 27001 ensures that the risk associated with these events is minimized.
What does this mean for our customers
ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification holds substantial significance for our customers from the perspective of securing information and providing customers with confidence in the protection of their sensitive data. Risk management practices minimize potential threats, assuring customers that their data is safeguarded against security breaches.
Customers who are already ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certified, share a common commitment to international standards for information security. This alignment facilitates smoother collaboration as both parties understand and adhere to the same best practices. The ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certificate is available on the company's website.
